The ability to rise above undesirable circumstances is a power that every one of us can attain. The FAC devotes itself to victims that need to heal their scars. Maya Angelou's poem, "Still I Rise," epitomizes her triumph over those who oppress her place in society and her fight to stand up and rise above abuse. The chair for two embodies a silent conversation between the speaker and their audience. The speaker, despite ongoing struggles, continues to rise. As the determination grows, so do the rhythmic waves.
